Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that powers the tool. Pendleton County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Emails and Messages
When you send an email or contact message, we keep what is needed to read it and respond. The message is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Visit Data
Standard technical details may be recorded when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The network IP address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of the visit.
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site. A browser can block or delete them, though some functions may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Reasons We Process Data
Collected data is used only for operating, understanding, and supporting the service.
- Keep pages available and responsive.
- Send a search request to the selected partner.
- Understand which material visitors find useful.
- Detect and repair technical faults.
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Privacy Beyond This Domain
Links lead to official resources such as the Pendleton County Sheriff, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, the Pendleton County Judiciary, and independent search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy governs its collection and use of data.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through their systems and policies, not as a Pendleton County government function.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may still be received by these limited categories:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Services that measure traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website, connected system, or transmission method is fully secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Use by Minors
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Contact us to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the data actually held, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we retain.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Ask that eligible personal data be erased.
- Opt out of certain processing where that right applies.
